The company was founded in 2007 by Dipl. -Ing. Tristan Douglas Jensen. Tristan was borne in England but was brought up in Bavaria, Germany. After achieving his German engineering degree (Dipl. -Ing. (FH) in Automotive & Aeronautical Engineering from the FH Muenchen he moved to England to work as a Development Engineer at Alphr Technology Ltd. During this period he found his enthusiasm for Mechanical Design using 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Tristan then moved to contracting for a period as a Project Engineer, later Project Manager within the Rail Industry where he then founded Jensen Consulting Limited. Within the Rail Industry he worked with his own design team on Projects such as Kings Cross Regeneration, Thameslink & Crossrail.
After relocating into the offices at Paynes Park in Hitchin he then focused on getting a wider customer base. Within a short period the business was operating in most Industry Sectors with a close working relationship to local businesses & events as well as with national & international customers & clients.
The Jensen Consulting Team is run by Tristan Jensen and consists of trained CAD Draftsmen & Design Engineers who regularly visit our clients manufacturing facilities in order to keep upto date with the purpose of the project and their supporting drawings and designs.
What do we do
The company offers the 5 Main CAD Services which are all based on CAD (Computer Aided Design)
A Project will often require more than just one CAD service. Especially as most projects are initially created as 3D CAD models from which the 2D Drawings can be created. We often have coordinate to between several parties within a project who all have their own vision of what the project should look like. We look closely at the mechanical restrictions and the manufacturing capabilities to ensure harmony.
Our usual requirement is to fill the gap between the design stage and the manufacturing stage by fully understanding the design and producing information for the client, the contractor or the manufacturer.
We basically take an existing design, which can be in the form of a sketch, Structural Engineers Drawings or an existing part and create 3D CAD Models and/or drawings of it. We do that with an understanding of what the project user will be doing with that drawing and its all important detail.
What are our tools
Our CAD tools are all high end computer workstations and with an array up to date CAD Software such as

- Autodeks Revit
- Autodesk Advanced Steel
- Autodesk Map 3D
- Autodesk Plant 3D
For measuring parts we either use 3D Laser Scanners or calipers & micrometers depending on the requirements.
