CAD Animations are videos produced by a computer. These photo-realistic animations are based on 3D CAD Models. These videos are mostly used for visualisations of a concept in product development or for marketing purposes. CAD Animations allow products to be visualised in ways that are not possible in real life applications such as exploded views and internal moving parts.

How do we produce a CAD Animations?
Our input information
We will produce a 3D CAD model based on the sketches, photos or an existing physical part using Solidworks.
Our CAD Animation Process
At Restoric Design we use Keyshot as our preferred rendering & animation package. Once the 3D CAD Model has been completed it is imported into the rendering software package. Within the rendering software our team will:
- Apply materials and finishes
- Setup camera angles
- Setup lighting & background
- Apply transitions & rotations of every part in accordance with the storyboard
Once this has been completed, the model is processed (rendered) by your high powered rendering works stations to produce a video of the CAD Animation
What kind of videos do we produce
Based on the 3D CAD Models either produced in-house or received from the clients, we produce high-quality photo-realistic CAD animations. We are able to produce videos of:
- Exterior buildings
- Walkthroughs through buildings to show interior designs – fully furnished
- In Situ animations – showing products in their real life and realistic environment
- Sectioned animations – displaying the internal working of a product
- Exploded animations – showing all (or part) of internal parts of a product
