Our Client

Our client is a fabricator based in Wales. They were appointed to fabricate this structural steel frame. The frame comprised of:

hot rolled steel
cold rolled steel



Our Service

Our scope of works was to produce fabrication drawings of the hot and cold rolled steel. From the architectural drawings in conjunction with the structural engineers drawings we produced a 3D CAD Model using Autodesk Advance Steel. The architectural drawings were used for the balustrade details. The structural engineers drawings were used for section sizes and connections. The challenge of this project was developing some of the connections as there where compound angles in restricted space.



Our Output

Based on the 3D CAD Model we produced a General Assembly drawing for approval. The GA drawings shows:

Plan view of column, beam and cold rolled layout
Connection details of all major connections
Elevations including all relevant levels

This allows the architect and structural engineer to understand our design fully and comment/approve.

Once approval of the GA drawing was given, we produced the fabrication pack. The fabrication pack consisted of:

General Assembly Drawing issued for construction. This drawing includes all relevant views (Plan, Elevation, Iso metric) with dimensions and beam numbers
Assembly Drawing for welding
Single Part Plate drawings for laser cutting
Material List
Bolt & Anchor List
Erection Bolt List (bolt list assorted to each beam)
NC & DXF files for pre-cutting
